Kevin Coen, aged 21

Killed 20th January 1975
Shot Dead by a British Soldier

Kevin Coen was a 21 year old single man from Riverstown, Co. Sligo. He was a volunteer with the South Fermanagh Battalion of Oglaigh na h-Eireann. He was shot whilst on active service at Cassidy's Cross near Kinawley. He was described as a young man who was happy with people his own age and to spend time talking to the old. His ambition was to help his neighbours and his friends.

His body was treated in a particularly insulting and disrespectful manner whilst being brought to the Erne Hospital by the British Soldiers.

His remains were transported back to Riverstown where large crowds turned out along the route to pay their respects.
